Mt Rushmore, South Dakota
Bob
and I made the trip to Rapid City, South Dakota for my younger sisters'
high school graduation. I haven't spent much time with either of
my long distance sisters, so us making the trip was really the first
time I've spent time with them since I was in high school.
After a couple flight delays we made it in time for
Anneka's graduation party at her parents house. In addition to
seeing my sister after years of little to no contact, I finally
met my father's brother, Butch, and his daughter, Hillary.
Since my older sister was also in town, I managed to snag a picture of all three
of my sisters.

On
our last full day in town, we all made a trip out to Mt. Rushmore to see the
sights. I hadn't been since high school and I couldn't believe how much the
area had changed since I had last visited. Not on the mountain,
but on the tourist grounds around the mountain. A lot can change
in 10 years.
During our visit we took a walk along the trail that takes you
up under the mountain and down to the sculpture's workshop. When
I say we walked, I mean Butch, Rita (father's wife), my father,
Hillary, Anneka and I walked while Bob and Delayna ran the trail.
After they were successfully worn out, I managed to snap a shot
of Bob at the base of Mt. Rushmore. After much walking we made
it back around to the musuem under the entrance and watched a
movie covering the history of the mountain. They had a lot of
interesting stuff in the musuem, with the most important exhibt
being the mountain blast simulation - where you pick a blast
video and simulate blasting the mountain.
Considering I really hadn't spoken to either Anneka and Delayna
in years, I wasn't paying much attention to taking pictures,
so I didn't take many - plus the digital camera's batteries died.
Of course, considering I'm so good at talking to people
I don't know I can honestly say I didn't talk much
either, so the majority of the walk was spent fiddling with the
camera.
